Best Cafes in Miami, Florida for Graduate Students

For all those outside of Miami, Florida, I apologize in advance, but this post is for my fellow graduate students putting in the work in the city where work is not often a first thought.

Back home in the Midwest, coffee shops were the place I went to process the chaos of life. No matter what season, rain or shine, a quaint, and cozy coffee house made life so much sweeter. When I needed to get work done for my Engineering classes or simply needed a quiet place to read, I took refuge in the delightful ambiance of the smell of dark roasted beans, and cuddly bohemian arm chairs.

Add in the insane happenings over the past two years, even more people are finding solace and solitude with their work outside of the office. Coffee shops appear to be the most ideal pursuit if one is in need of a drastic change in work atmosphere. For graduate students, this new headspace can be extremely helpful to manifest new ideas.

Creativity truly creates change, and I have found so much inspiration sipping my favorite drink at some of these local and not so local places. Therefore, I listed my top five favorite coffee places to work at in Miami, and my personal rating of each.

Enjoy some of these magical brews and the free WI-FI!

Starbucks

Parking: Coral Gables lot is small, but always free. Coconut Grove lot 72 has 3 hours of free parking validated by Starbucks! Just be careful to leave before the time runs out.

Ambiance: 6/10

It is a typical Starbucks. Always really cold inside, but love walking around the marina for fresh air!

Favorite drink: Iced caramel macchiato with almond milk

Coffee rating: 5/10

These of course are not the only coffee houses in Miami, however, they were the ones that were the most ideal for students wanting to work somewhere with great energy to stay motivated! These beautiful places have helped me complete three semesters of Ph.D. studies thus far, and I look forward to exploring even more to discover the most exquisitely coffee scented study coves.

Hope you check one of these places out, and let me know how you would rate it!

Best,

Madeleine
